It was really awesome. I don’t remember if I has any issues with it as far as singal is concerned. Travelled to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Marbella, Cadiz and Seville. Signal strength was excellent. Skype and whatsup helped me keep in touch with my team back in the home country.

VISAS IN EL SALVADOR

You will not need to process a visa if you travel to El Salvador coming from the European Union, United States, Argentina, Mexico and the rest of Latin-American countries; although you will need the passport and the ticket back to your home country. Citizens coming from Cuba, Brazil and Venezuela need a visa in order to enter the country, and travellers from Greece, Portugal, Mexico and the United States will have to show the tourist card, which costs around 11 euros and is issued by airlines, consulates or immigration offices located at airports in El Salvador. Tourist visas are provided in El Salvador within 48 hours. As the legislation regarding visas is constantly changing, we recommend you have a look at the web of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador.

VACCINES AND HEALTH INSURANCE TO TRAVEL TO EL SALVADOR

You will not need to get vaccinated if you travel to El Salvador from Europe; however, the vaccine against yellow fever is compulsory if you travel from Brazil, Colombia, Peru, French Guyana, Venezuela or Paraguay, and you will have to show vaccination certificate against yellow fever if you are going to visit regions suffering from this illness regardless the country you come from. Vaccines against tetanus, hepatitis A and B, polio and typhoid fevers are recommended, and be aware that dengue outbreaks are common in rural areas of the country. Water can be polluted, so we advise you only drink bottled water. In El Salvador there are over 50 hospitals across the entire territory, however health conditions aren’t the best possible, so you should include a health insurance in case of accident or illness. If you travel with animals, they should be vaccinated against rabies.

ONE OF THE MOST INSECURE COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD

El Salvador is a country where violence and crime is highly common, so we don’t recommend that you travel when high level of insecurity is experienced, being considered the second most dangerous country in the world. However, the truth is that danger is relative. Gangs are a problem regarding insecurity and violence. Avoid walking alone at night and be aware of your clothing. Don’t wear shirts and tattoos that can lead to violence because gangs have specific clothing codes and can be misunderstood. For example, numbers 13 and 18 in your clothing is a sign of warning. The use of expensive/brand-name clothing is not recommended.
