It was really awesome. I don’t remember if I has any issues with it as far as singal is concerned. Travelled to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Marbella, Cadiz and Seville. Signal strength was excellent. Skype and whatsup helped me keep in touch with my team back in the home country.

BON VOYAGE!

According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), France is the most visited country in the world with over 81 million tourists annually and the French capital, Paris, welcomes the vast majority of them. The Louvre Museum is visited by approximately 10 million people annually and is considered to be the most visited museum in the world and the main tourist attraction of France. The Louvre exceeds surprisingly the well-known Eiffel Tower with over 7 million visitors each year.

As you already know, the national currency in France is the euro and prices are quite high for tourists mainly in big cities like Paris. Therefore, we recommend you benefit from trip offers and tourist packages or visit France during low season.

VISA AND HEALTHCARE

If you are an EU citizen, member of the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland or any of the countries with which France has entered into agreements regarding this issue, you will not need a visa and you can stay in France for 90 days. If, on the contrary, you don’t belong to any of aforementioned countries, you have to request your visa in advance, at the embassy or French consulate in your country. Visit the French diplomacy website in order to solve any questions regarding this process: http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/es/venir-a-francia. You will have health insurance if you belong to the EU and have the European Health Insurance Card. If you are not European and you are travelling to France, it is advisable to hire a health insurance.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS, THEFT AND LOSS

France is considered to be one of the most secure countries in Europe, however you should always be especially careful with your personal belongings and particularly when you are planning on visiting crowded places, monuments, airports, train stations, buses, and metro or at night. Don’t forget that it is more advisable to travel light; and in case of theft or loss of personal belongings you should go to the closest police station as soon as possible.

The country offers great variety of hotels, apartments, youth hostels, campsites, etc. of all types and with affordable prices regarding quality. You will be assisted in order to plan your trip and book your accommodation, transport…. You should regularly visit the France Tourism official website http://es.rendezvousenfrance.com/

PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND DRIVING LICENCE

Did you know that France is one of the countries with best transport system? All urban, suburban and rural areas are connected by public transport, so you will not need to drive by car or rent a car in order to discover the country. If you only have a few days available you can try TGV, which is the French high speed train connecting the most interesting corners of the country. If you prefer to drive and you are part of the EU, you only have to bring your usual driving licence. If you are not a member of the EU, we recommend you also carry a multilingual international licence.

SHOPPING HOURS, TIPS AND GREETINGS

Bear in mind that the usual shopping opening hours range from 09.00 to 18.30h (banks close around 16.00h); tips are included in taxes (15% of the total bill) although many people leave an extra tip; people use to greet shaking hands and you will be named as “Monsieur” or “Madame”.
