LAND OF THE INCAS

Have you planned your itinerary for your next trip to Peru? Pay attention to the most visited places and discover a natural country, with a millenary culture due to its great variety of landscapes, colours and traditions. Mountains, deserts, jungles, coasts… regardless the destination, you will discover a wonderful country as well as friendly and hospitable people. Add the following destinations to your travel plans: Arequipa, “the White City”, its historic city centre designated World Heritage Site and the Colca Canyon; A cruise across the river Amazonas being the starting point Iquitos; The Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world located in the Andean region; The spectacular formations of Nazca Lines, located in Pampas de Junama; The Paracas National Reserve, located at the shore of the Pacific Ocean, or Tambopata National Reserve, in the Peruvian Amazonas; The city made of clay of Trujillo; and the capital city, Lima. Visitors in Peru should discover all tourist attractions and Machu Picchu is considered one of the new 7 Wonders of the World. Don’t forget Cuzco and the famous access to the sacred city known as Camino Inca.

VISIT MACHU PICCHU - RELEVANT INFORMATION

Machu Picchu was designated World Heritage Site in 1983. The Archaeological National Park of Machu Picchu is built with Inca ruins from Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu and Camino Inca. In order to keep this place preserved, there is an access limit of 2.500 people daily. Visiting hours are from 06.00 am to 16.00 pm, while visits can be prolonged until 17.00 pm, when exit hours start. Where do I buy the ticket to visit Machu Picchu? We recommend buying it in advance directly in the official Machu Picchu’s website, because may be sold out in Peru. There are several types of tickets: Visit only the city (45€ estimate) or choose a pack that also includes Machu Picchu Museum, Huayna Picchu or climbing Machu Picchu Mountain. In order to visit Camino Inca you have to buy the ticket at an authorised agency, over 3 months in advance. It costs around 300$, however there is an alternative known as the Alternative Route to Machu Picchu which costs 15$.
